2A) Lalin Video Editing
Figure 1.1 Lalin Storyboard (19/5/2025)
I started by using the Ripple tool to trim the video clips into exactly 35 seconds.

Not applying the effect made the flow of the actor disappearing look inconsistent and weird so I applied Cross Dissolve in the clip where the actor disappears more naturally.

I also applied Dip to Black at the start and end of the video to further improve the overall video to give it a cinematic feel.

Next, I applied background music, sound effects and graphics to the video clips.

Additionally, I use Constant Gain to create a fade in and fade out for the background music and sound effects.

These are the colour correction and colour grading process. I decided to go with a warmer tone to match with the video's concept.

Production Crew Task List
Figure 1.10 Production Crew Task List (19/5/2025)
We had to do a production shoot according to the provided storyboard of the movie, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once shown below:

These were some of the BTS photos taken during the production shoot. We had so much fun, I really enjoyed it :D

After the production shoot, we were assigned to edit the video clips and do colour correction on them.
Figure 1.13 Colour Correction Task (26/5/2025)
I started off by trimming the video clips using the Ripple tool. It was challenge determining which clip should I put first because we had to make it into a movie trailer and Mr Martin told us to explore, do not have to follow the storyboard completely.

The colour correction part was equally challenging because applying the suitable tone can enhance the overall aesthetic of the video.
Below are the adjustments for a Bluish tone colour correction:

I added text in between a few video clips to create a suspenseful feeling.

To make the text slowly enlarging and zooming in, I added keyframes to the texts under the Scale effect so the text will slowly enlarge as the video plays.

Throughout Task 2, I learned how to do colour correction and colour grading, both of them play a crucial role in post production. I was also lucky and grateful to group up with amazing teammates for the production shoot. I took the role of D.O.P (Director of Photography) as I have always wanted to try working behind the camera. The shoot was a successful and memorable experience, especially since I have been interested in cinematography and videography. It gave me a better and deeper understanding of what goes on behind the scenes in video and sound production.
Colour correction and colour grading is also important in post production. They improve the colours and the overall aesthetic of the video by making the visuals more vibrant. Although I still find some tools in Adobe Premiere Pro confusing during the movie trailer editing, I enjoyed the process and will continue to ultilise the skills and knowledge in my upcoming Task 3.
